Area covered
The stretch of the M1 between Yatala and Brisbane carries a lot of South East Queensland's manufacturing, food production and distribution. It is the busiest part of our service area.
Crestmead and Berrinba are dense with food manufacturing and packaging. Wacol, Acacia Ridge and Rocklea run heavier: building products, steel, plastics and processing. Oxley and Archerfield sit in between. The common thread is production plant that has been running a long time, extended over the years, and is expensive to stop.
What we do here
Machinery down, intermittent trips, and faults that clear before anyone gets to them. Methodical diagnosis rather than swapping parts.
Planned maintenance on motors, drives, switchboards, MCCs and control circuits, with defects picked up before they become breakdowns.
Cover for leave, vacancies and busy periods on sites with their own maintenance teams, which most sites in this corridor have.
Annual and planned shutdown electrical work, scoped and prepared ahead of the window.
Machinery installation, line modifications, distribution, switchboard and MCC work on operating sites.
Larger plant, older switchgear, drawings that no longer match the installation.
Local work
The PGH Bricks and Pavers plant at Oxley runs a four-week shutdown every year. We built and installed two extra low voltage transformer stacks for the mill screen heaters, disconnected the existing transformers, re-routed the supplies and had the screens commissioned and back online inside the window.
That job is typical of the corridor: heavy plant, a fixed annual window, and work that simply cannot be done while the mill is running.
Further south at Springwood and through Crestmead we do more food production work, where the plant is more automated and the windows are shorter.
